Not many bands can pull off a sousaphone, washboard and guitar combo, but the Tin Men make it the focus of their quirky, eclectic mix of sounds. Veering wildly from R&B to jazz to zydeco to heavy metal and back again, this group of performers puts on a show that never fails to astound. The group is made up of veteran performers guitarist Alex McMurray, sousaphonist Matt Perrine and Washboard Chaz Leary, who wields his eponymous instrument with extraordinary charm and enthusiasm. The trio has released two studio albums so far, 2003’s Super Great Music for Modern Lovers and 2005’s Freaks for Industry, with a third on the way. Until then, catch the Tin Men weekly on Frenchmen Street!
